Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-05

These terms are between you and Scale Desk ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What the service is

Scale Desk is a web tool for finding freelance job listings, writing proposals, managing leads and clients, messaging, sharing files and collecting payments. Job listings come from third-party websites. We do not own them, we cannot guarantee they are accurate or still open, and bidding on a job happens on the website that owns the listing, under that website's rules.

2. Your account

You must give true information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.

3. Trials, plans and payment

New accounts may get a free trial, or an invite code that gives free days. After that a paid plan is needed. Subscriptions renew each month until cancelled and are billed through our payment provider. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Unless the law says otherwise, we do not refund a month that has already started. We may change prices with notice before your next renewal.

4. Payments between you and your clients

If you use the project room payment features, your client pays you, not us. We provide the tools only. We are not a party to your agreement with your client or your freelancers, we do not hold money in escrow, and we are not responsible for disputes, refunds, chargebacks, taxes or paying your freelancers. Final files are locked until the payment recorded in the room is complete, but this is a convenience and not a guarantee against copying anything you chose to share as a preview.

5. What you may not do

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you put in: leads, client details, messages, files and proposals. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you. You are responsible for having the right to share your clients' and freelancers' information with us.

7. AI assistant

The AI assistant produces drafts. It can be wrong. Read and edit everything before you send it, and do not rely on it for legal, tax or financial decisions. Text you give it is sent to our AI provider to produce a reply.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running, but it is provided "as is". It may be interrupted, and features may change. Please keep your own copies of anything important.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost business, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end the service or your account with reasonable notice, or immediately if you seriously break these terms.

11. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Questions: malyonjene@gmail.com.
